Bath & Body Works’ newest collaboration brings to life a dazzling collection of products based on Disney Princess characters. The collection features six brand new fragrances inspired by some of the most beloved characters in the franchise: Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Moana and Tiana. Each fragrance was carefully crafted with a Princess character in mind and designed to capture their unique spirit, strength and resilience while transporting you into their worlds.
In honor of this special moment, we are giving a behind the scenes look into the development of Tiana’s unique fragrance.
Tiana dreams of one day owning her own restaurant where her talents for cooking can flourish. Her determination leads her from a bustling New Orleans deep into the bayou where an unexpected adventure begins.
Despite steep obstacles, Tiana passionately pursues her goals and stops at nothing to achieve them.
Tiana’s fragrance embodies her unique traits and brings to life her most iconic scenes and moments. The carefully crafted notes of delicate water lily, gilded amber and shimmering bayou woods will transport Princess and the Frog fans back to their very first introduction to Princess Tiana.
“This scent was inspired by Tiana’s time navigating and meeting friends in the bayou, and we loved the idea of a fragrance that included a water lily note which is not only represented in the movie setting but is also a key detail on Tiana’s dress,” says Morgan Munnelly, Bath & Body Works’ senior merchant. “It’s a fruity floral fragrance but with a nice watery element that gives a fresh projection. It’s backed with a Bayou woods note giving it a bold hook with lasting power.”
Similar to the fragrance inspiration, the design of Tiana’s collection pays homage to key elements of her story. Assistant designer Kazamira Walker brought in the iconic green color of Tiana’s dress with a celebratory flair which brings the excitement of Mardi Gras to life.
“Smaller peek-a-boo elements, like the music notes and fireflies, are subtle hints that tie back to Tiana’s time spent in the bayou,” Walker says.
The collection also offers accessories inspired by Tiana’s story including a Wallflower Heater featuring a lotus flower, a PocketBac Holder and a stitched lily pad coin purse, giving customers even more ways to lean into how they experience their favorite Princess.
Walker hopes that Tiana’s passionate spirit will resonate with fans through the fragrance and packaging designs. “Each of the Princess characters are significant to us in different ways, as with customers as well. I hope to inspire our younger generation, that they know to never give up and never stop chasing their dreams.” Walker says.
