Bath & Body Works’ newest collaboration brings to life a dazzling collection of products based on Disney Princess characters. The collection features six brand new fragrances inspired by some of the most beloved characters in the franchise: Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Moana and Tiana. Each fragrance was carefully crafted with a Princess character in mind and designed to capture their unique spirit, strength and resilience while transporting you into their worlds.
In honor of this special moment, we are giving a behind the scenes look into the development of these unique fragrances, this week’s spotlight is on Belle.
Bonjour! Enter the heart of a forgotten forest where you’ll uncover a mysterious castle, a single, meaningful rose and one of the most compassionate Princess characters of all time.
Belle, known for her intelligence and confidence, exemplifies what it truly means to not judge a book by its cover. Her adventurous spirit shows that anyone can achieve their goals with a little bit of courage.
In the Bath & Body Works Disney Princess collection, Beauty and the Beast fans can relive some of her most iconic moments through a warm and comforting gourmand scent. Her signature fragrance features notes of rose petals, sparkling buttercup and whipped vanilla.
“The rose is such a famous icon in the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ film —the floating rose in a cloche represents love, transformation and inner beauty,” says Morgan Munnelly, senior merchant at Bath & Body Works. “We wanted to tell the story of the rose ingredient, but also have it wrapped in a warm comfort that captures Belle’s genuine and caring personality. She sacrifices herself to save her father, showing her compassion and love so there’s a thread of comforting gourmand notes of sparkling buttercup and whipped vanilla that make it an addictive and beautifully unique fragrance.”
Belle’s product designs work hand in hand with the fragrance design, capturing similar elements from her story. Bath & Body Works designer Abby Day leaned into vibrant gold for the packaging to further showcase the rose and bring out a buttercup motif.
The collection also includes customized accessories such as Belle’s magical mirror and a golden coin purse in the shape of a book.
“There are also meaningful symbols hidden within the artwork like the teacup which we believe will spark some familiarity and curiosity,” says Day. “I hope our customers feel a sense of nostalgia and wonder when looking at Belle’s collection.”
